Our Story
My Life
I'm Tarun Sachdeva, a 31 year old educator, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner from the small town of Pataudi, Haryana, India. My childhood passion for cricket shaped my discipline, patience, resilience, and strategic thinking qualities that continue to guide me today. Driven by curiosity, my journey took me beyond the boundaries of my hometown and across continents, where I earned an M.Sc. in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence from EDHEC Business School, France and now proudly call Belgium home.
With over 10 years of experience in teaching, consulting, and industry, I specialize in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Finance. As the founder of DataMantra, my mission is to make world class education practical, accessible, and career focused, empowering individuals and organizations to succeed in a technology driven world.
Beyond my professional journey, I have travelled to more than 50 countries, experiences that have broadened my perspective and reinforced my belief that learning has no boundaries. My goal is simple to inspire growth, create opportunities, and help people unlock their full potential through knowledge, innovation, and lifelong learning.
Friends & Family
Family has always been central part of my life. I share a close and meaningful bond with my grandparents, whose values, wisdom, and life experiences have deeply shaped who I am today. I also have an identical twin brother, Varun, and we are often mistaken for each other due to how alike we look. In addition, I have two elder sisters, both of whom are happily married.
What makes my journey even more special is that the people who are part of DataMantra were friends or family even before they became part of the company. In many ways, the company has been built with and by people who were already close to me, making it feel less like a workplace and more like an extended family built on trust, love, and shared values.
My Professional Life
I bring nearly 10 years of professional experience spanning Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Product Management. Two of the most defining roles in my journey include working as a Senior Financial Analyst in the Credit & Risk Controllership function at American Express and as a Senior Data & AI Consultant at Beautyplaza in Belgium.
I specialize in Data Visualization, with deep expertise in Tableau and advanced SQL development. My work has evolved into building strong capabilities in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI, enabling me to design intelligent, data-driven solutions that solve complex business problems.
Alongside my technical expertise, I have taken on Product Owner responsibilities, leading cross-functional teams and driving multiple technology and transformation initiatives. This experience has helped me bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring solutions are both innovative and impactful.
Outside work
Outside of work, I am a man of my word and strongly believe in honoring my commitments and keeping my promises. I value trust, integrity, and authenticity in both my personal and professional relationships.
I enjoy building meaningful, long-term relationships and nurturing them over time. In an era dominated by social media, I consider myself somewhat old-school. I prefer genuine conversations, phone calls, and even handwritten letters to stay connected with the people who matter to me. In fact, I do not use social media and instead focus on real world connections and experiences.
I am naturally curious about people and enjoy meeting individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life. One of my greatest passions is travel. Over the years, I have visited more than 50 countries, and each journey has shaped my understanding of humanity, culture, and perspective. To preserve these experiences, I have maintained a personal travel journal for the past 10 years, documenting stories, reflections, and memories from around the world.
I live by the philosophy of “Hakuna Matata” embracing life with optimism, gratitude, and a positive mindset while trusting the journey as it unfolds. I am also a spiritual and religious person who respects and believes in the core values of all religions, drawing inspiration from their shared teachings of compassion, humility, service, and kindness.
As I continue exploring the world and meeting new people, I believe in going with the flow, staying open to experiences, and making the most of every opportunity that life presents.
.DataMantra - My small venture & Dream
I recorded my first course without a plan. I simply loved teaching and it turned out, people loved learning from me.
What followed wasn’t a strategy. It was a decade of showing up: training teams at American Express, running sessions while travelling across 50+ countries, helping career switchers land their first data jobs, and somewhere in between, moving to France for a Master’s and meeting the people who would eventually become this team.
Classmates, roommates, and people I met along the way real connections, built in real time.
Nitish entered the journey in much the same way. An interview question became a conversation, which became a friendship, and eventually a co-foundership built on trust and consistency rather than titles.
Greesham is family in the most literal sense my cousin and a mentor long before he became a co-founder bringing over 25 years of experience at the moment it was needed most.
Nobody here joined a company. They joined me and stayed because the work felt worth doing.
The mission helping someone understand something they didn’t yesterday was one worth building around.
That’s DataMantra: a close knit group of people spread across London, Luxembourg, Paris, and India, who happen to be very good at what they teach, and who genuinely care whether it lands.
My hobbies
I have a deep passion for travel and exploration. I have visited almost all the states in India, with Himachal Pradesh villages and Kashmir’s Dal Lake being two of my most cherished places. I stayed in these regions for nearly two years during the lockdown period, which made the experience even more meaningful and personal.
I have also traveled to almost 50 countries around the world, including Vietnam, Nepal, Egypt, Israel, France, England, Jordan, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Austria, Hungary (Budapest), Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and many more. Among all my international travels, Kenya especially the Masai Mara remains my absolute favorite destination for its raw beauty and wildlife experience.
Travel, for me, is not just about places but about people and connections. Some of my most memorable journeys were shared with my brother Greesham, my close friend Johan (Boss) from Belgium, and Nae Fukoka from Japan.
I also enjoy running with Johan as we explore different parts of Europe and the world together. Dancing is another passion of mine. I love doing Salsa with my good friend Anna Laura. I have also completed a clown course, which added a fun and creative dimension to my personality.
I enjoy watching football matches, especially in Spain, where the energy and atmosphere are unmatched. Above all, I am always open to trying new and fresh experiences that come my way, embracing life as it unfolds with curiosity and enthusiasm.
